These standalone OSX applications were developed using Max. They are designed to demonstrate fundamental audio engineering / production, psychoacoustic and critical listening concepts using interactive interfaces that exploit the flexibility of real-time signal processing, as opposed to static sound files.

SAE Parametric Equaliser Training

This Technical Ear Training app is designed to teach students to identify the centre frequency of a parametric filter applied to any audio file/s they import into the program.

Square Wave Generator

This app demonstrates how a square wave is created by summing sine waves. Individual frequencies can be toggled on/off.

Sine Wave Addition with Variable Phase

This app demonstrates the addition of two sine waves with identical amplitude and frequency, but differing phase. The user controls the phase of the second sine wave, resulting in a summation of signals with phase-dependent amplitude.

Stereo Mixer with M/S Monitoring

This app is the result of a collaboration between Mark Bassett and SAE Byron Bay Bachelor of Audio student Jheff Bailey. It was designed to demonstrate a stereo recording technique termed 'TriOmni' that Jheff developed, and features M/S monitoring and the ability to record the stereo output.
